The Lords Alliance is a relatively recent organization made up of a personal alliance and agents of the independant nations and citystates Located along the Sword Coast, primarily concentrated in the 'North' of said geographic region. The 4 most prominent and dominating members being the Cities of Waterdeep, Neverwinter, Baldur's Gate, and Silverymoon. The purpose of the alliance is primarily to act as a united front against the region's enemies primarily the Zentarim of Zentil Keep that operate as bandits, slavers, and mercenaries. And the merchants of Amn whom locals have seen as having an overreach on their local affairs through foreign meddling. Support of the Alliance is strongest in the northern areas of the Sword Coast but popularity is growing in the south as the alliance makes itself established only existing for around thirteen years since its formal founding in 1325DR.
The alliance primarily concerns itself with the safety of the region it operates, protecting merchant caravans, acting as a collective bargaining front of the cities for more powerful states, and as liasons and agents of order in the independent realms. The organization even acts as the front for 'monstrous' groups such as orc and goblin tribes to act as officiants of treaties and agreements between these groups and nearby settlements. Most prominent however is the Lords Alliance is the central organization around which joint military affairs among alliance members were conducted, the multi-national nature of the organization allowing it to better coordinate the armed forces of such in tandem rather as an ad-hoc band other military commanders may find and expect.
One can find recruitment stations for being in the Lord’s Alliance along most towns and cities though the jobs often on hire are minor affairs until one can prove themselves or the Alliance hits a crisis. The requirements to join are relatively lax, assuming one can adequately prove citizenship and that their loyalty revolves to the Sword Coast or particularly their home citystate
Rankings in the Lord’s Alliance are readily based but each chapter 'city' holds differences in rank and recruitment with only senior officers holding major control over the different cities branches typically in field operations. The lowest affiliates being the militias and caravan guards equipped by but not entirely associated with the organization itself. The lowest official rank being the title of 'Cloak' which has very lax requirements to actually earn and often any indivdiual hired for official Lords Alliance buisiness will be given this rank and a signet ring designating it simply to ease travel through alliance held territory. As such its the rank least trusted and most likely to earn or loose. The fullest 'permanent' rank being that of 'Redknife' which are given more resources and are permanent stable hire ons for the local Lords Alliance ouposts. Above this is the title of Stringblade which is often agents which are known beyond their local outposts affairs and tasked with delicate affairs of the alliance. Above the Stringblades are the Wardukes whom are the alliance members often in charge of 'lesser' chapter outposts and tasked with leadership roles for important missions. The highest rank one can achieve without actively becoming a proper leader in one of the major Lords Alliance cities is the Lion-Crown whom report directly to the high lords of the cities.
Their enemies are primarily the Shadow Keepers of Amn, and the forces of Zentil Keep along with growing mistrust from the Wizards of Thay. this means that the Lords Alliance is not without numerous enemies not counting security issues such as orc hordes or goblins putting need of adventurers in a high state of enemies. For friends, the alliance can count on support from groups such as the Harpers and local powers in their organizations sphere of influence such as the fledgeling mercenary group of the Flaming Fists.
