Chronicles of Arvandor

Far Traveler

Many that come this far west of Moonshae Isles, come from the North, or the Sword Coast, seeking fortune and glory, or a new start. While you might have come for the same reasons, you’ve had to travel alot further.

You are from a distant place, one so remote that few of the common folk might even realize that it exists, and chances are good that even if some people you meet have heard of your homeland, they know merely the name and perhaps a few mythic stories.

Skill Proficiencies: Insight, Perception

Tool Proficiencies: Any one musical instrument, gaming set or Exotic Weapon proficiency of your choice, typically something specifically native to your homeland,

Languages: Any one of your choice

Feature:

All Eyes on You

Your accent, mannerisms, figures of speech, or perhaps even your appearance may mark you as foreign and a curiosity for uneducated locals. Curious glances are often directed your way wherever you go, which can be a nuisance, but you also gain the friendly interest of scholars and others intrigued by far-off lands, to say nothing of everyday folk who are eager to hear stories of your homeland.

You can exploit this attention into access to people and places you might not otherwise have, for you and your traveling companions. Noble lords seeking education, traveling scholars seeking secondary sources, and merchants looking for new markets might share an interest in the different cultures and landscapes far from their home. They may be interested in learning from you, in exchange for providing you a comfortable lifestyle for a time.

Viable locations for homeland

  • Sossal - The cold north-east of Faerun, a druidic enclave in inhospitably cold and barren lands.
